It is registration-only and is regularly updated with news, blogs and new information hubs.

ABOUT THE WORK
Early market engagement
Who the specialist will work with
There is a small communications team including: head of comms; senior content manager and communications manager. Members of the unit and external contributors contribute content for the site.
What the specialist will work on
Website management for new registration-only site- Journalistic experience (writing, editing, headlines)- Content publishing/management - specifically experience with the Umbraco platform- Content planning and delivery- Accessibility- Evaluation
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
Two members of the comms team are based at Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, London. One is based at Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester. We also work remotely part of the time.
Working arrangements
Staff are expected to work from the office three days a week. This can be negotiated. We work a 37 hour week. There is flexibility on start and finish time, but it is generally Monday-Friday, 9am-5.15pm

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Demonstrate journalistic skills: writing; editing and headlines
  • Show experience of using content management/publishing systems, preferably Umbraco
  • Have organisational abilities: maintain filing systems; keep forward look to plan ahead and schedule content
  • Track and measure web outputs and act on results to ensure continuous improvement. Experience of Google analytics
  • Demonstrate creativity with proven ability to maintain and further improve the quality and look of the website; maintain branding, use of images and variety and quality of content
  • Have experience of implementing accessibility measures to ensure inclusivity
  • Work as part of a team, to maintain and build new internal and external relationships to help maintain and grow registered users of the website
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • #C coding
  • Additional content deliver skills such as photography and video skills
  • Experience of making/delivering podcasts
  • General marketing and communication skills and an interest in contributing to other communication projects over and above the website
