The specialist will have experience working in a user centered design team, working closely with users to understand their needs and pain points. The Content Designer will also be required to share insights with project teams to ensure content solutions are delivered so the product remains consistent and user focused.

ABOUT THE WORK

Who the specialist will work with
The specialist will work with stakeholders across Technology Services including Product Owners and Service Owners. Within the team they will work with Digital Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Interaction Designers, User Researchers and Developers.
What the specialist will work on
The Content Designer will be responsible for creating, updating, and reviewing content for end-to-end user journeys by engaging with stakeholders (users, business, project teams) They will provide and deliver best practice content solutions for our ServiceNow products to ensure the most appropriate content is shown to users in the right place and in the right format. These solutions will be updated in a user-centred style guide providing standards, governance, and consistency across the platform. The designer will be working as a part of a multidisciplinary team providing evidence-based content solutions to ensure the users' goals are met across ServiceNow functionality.
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
Primarily at the DWP Digital Corporate Hub2- St Peters Square, Manchester - although there may be a requirement to work from other DWP locations in the North West.
Working arrangements
Specialist will work a minimum of 40% of their time (as directed by line management) on site at the Manchester Hub. The specialist will be required to be online between the hours of 8:00AM - 17:00PM Monday to Friday
Security clearance
All suppliers must BPSS cleared and On-Shore

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Good knowledge of using MS suite essential (.e.g PowerPoint, excel, word, Teams etc.)
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and experience in crafting accessible content
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership for deliverables
  • Experience working with ServiceNow ITSM and HRSD module preferred
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Support the creation of content across digital and non-digital channels to meet user needs and business objectives. Help to create clear, joined-up user journeys
  • Help to monitor and improve content based on user research and data
  • Use the style guide and other standards, along with your exemplary spelling and grammar, to create high quality content
  • Take part in user research and be aware of multidisciplinary content-production practices
  • Build relationships and work closely with policy, legal and other expert colleagues to make sure content is accurate and consistent
  • Promote user-centred content design within the department and beyond
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Demonstrate experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Government or Public Sector
  • Digital Workplace experience
