Summary of the work
 Design, build and support a platform for data scientists to query DWP data. Support for the existing platform. Technical input to project planning. Document architectural designs. Produce infrastructure as code. Develop automated mechanisms for deploying infrastructure and application changes. Provide ongoing skills transfer to DWP staff. Support infrastructure security auditing.

ABOUT THE WORK

Who the specialist will work with
 Alongside DWP team and other suppliers already in the Dataworks team. 3rd party auditors (e.g. ITHC provider) DWP digital SRE team (for handover of services for them to support) Stakeholders (e.g. UCFS, analyst community)
What the specialist will work on
 Data ingestion from Universal Credit Full Service, in to Dataworks New AWS Data Platform
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
 Base location for this work will take place at: DWP offices, Quarry House, Leeds, LS27UA.
Working arrangements
 Felxible working, at the discretion of the supplier to deliver the service. Some travel to other sites may be required in line with DWP travel and expense policy.
Security clearance
 All applicates must be SC cleared, or at least, must be eligible to apply for SC Clearance.

Essential skills and experience
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of working with the AWS cloud platform within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using 'Infrastructure as Code' to provision and manage cloud infrastructure using terraform within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using Git and GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate knowledge of test and behavioural driven development (TDD and BDD) within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using ConcourseCI to provide continuous integration and continuous deployment within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using AWS CloudWatch within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using AWS S3 (Simple Storage Service) within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrate experience of using AWS Key Management Service (KMS) within the last 2 years
