Who the specialist will work with

What the specialist will work on
Initial fast paced analysis of user requirements (10-15 days) Plan, design and analyse research and usability testing Generate user Persona and use scenarios Conduct heuristic evaluations Identify user requirements; help define project approach and user experience strategy Set conceptual design and suggest product direction based on field research and functional requirements Define user interaction model workflows Refine the interactive experience produce designs consistent with the DCMS identity Develop prototypes ranging from concepts to wireframes to high fidelity designs that represent the visual identity and interaction model required to ensure user success. Facilitate project communications through all phases of the lifecycle.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Extensive experience of user journey mappings
  • Test hypotheses and generate specific kinds of insights into user behaviour and needs
  • Extensive experience of planning, and conducting user research programmes
  • Ability to analyse and develop actionable recommendations from user research
  • Working closely with design teams to incorporate user research findings into the design
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Manage effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders
  • Experience of working within an Agile framework
  • Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology or related field
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • 1 years experience of user research within Government
  • 5 years experience as a user researcher
