ABOUT THE WORK
Early market engagement
 Zaikucloud AWS Big Data Consulting - 20 days @ £450.00 + VAT per day = £10,800.00 inc. VAT per GCloud rate card
Who the specialist will work with
 Working with various stakeholder both clinical and non-clinical within a NHS Genetics environment, ultimately reporting back to the Data and Informatics Director, Genetics.
What the specialist will work on
 Consultancy services x 20 days from one of the cloud providers accredited by NHS Digital (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure), and an experienced 3rd party provider. Objective: Prove the concept of running a bioinformatics pipeline inside a cloud supplier. Investigate options for vendor-neutral tools for launching and processing multiple cases in parallel. Gather metrics to provide sufficient detail to develop a full business case
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
 Newcastle with potential for work to be in Leeds and Sheffield who all form part of the same Genetics services.

 Consultancy services x 20 days from one of the cloud providers accredited by NHS Digital (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure), and an experienced 3rd party provider.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Have experience in designing cloud infrastructure models for bespoke developed applications
  • Have knowledge and experience of using platform-neutral tools for configuring cloud services for scripted infrastructure, load distribution and task scheduling
  • Have extensive knowledge of security and governance models appropriate for handling sensitive personal information
  • Have experience in developing cost models to support business cases for cloud infrastructure
  • Demonstrate experience in knowledge transfer of support processes and design principles to existing IT departments
