Who the specialist will work with
IT Manager at Barnsley Council and external stakeholders in other Local Authorities
What the specialist will work on
"To test the hypothesis that Barnsley's Income Management product could provide an effective low-cost solution for all local authorities. The “Gov.UK Pay as a viable alternative ePayment provider” project recommended a discovery be run to determine: * is there an LA market for an alternative IM product? * what the user needs are for an IM product amongst Local Authorities? * does the Barnsley product meets those needs? * what changes are needed if it doesn't? * can it integrate with GOV.UK Pay to offer a holistic solution? * what would an effective governance model look like?""""
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
Yorkshire & Humber
Working arrangements
This will be our first experience of running a Discovery project. We'd like to follow the process as recommended in the GOV.UK Service Manual as closely as possible such that after the project we'll have a good understanding of how to proceed ourselves in future. We'd like user research sessions to be run in our offices to enable key stakeholders from Barnsley to join in, but we are happy to attend sessions in neighbouring towns/cities if your facilities allow for better sessions to be run. We anticipate stakeholders at other council's being involved remotely.
Security clearance
On your first day with us, we will require you to sit through an online security induction training course.
