What the specialist will work on
The University of Plymouth is seeking expressions of interest to work with us on a 6 month project to enhance the University website. The University has some in- house development expertise and are looking to supplement these with external resource. The proposed website refresh focuses on three core areas of enhancement, all of which support the vision for a web presence that showcases the University and its 2030 objectives: Enhanced navigation and dynamic content Quality of content and alignment to the University’s 2030 Strategy Easy interaction, conversation and inquiry to increase the sense of engagement with our audiences
WORK SETUP

University of Plymouth, PL4 8AA Complimented by remote working by agreement with the University
Working arrangements
Establish an Agile development team for 12 sprints (2 weeks per sprint), with developers experienced in Ruby on Rails. This team will be supplemented by University development staff to enable an increase in velocity for this fast-paced project. Anticipated resource: Average of 2-3 developers for the duration of the project. Team size could either be constant for the full duration of the project, or scaled to increase capacity over a period of time. First two sprints to be conducted on site in Plymouth, beyond this we are open to remote working. Capacity to mobilise and commence on 2/3/20 is essential.

  • Have extensive experience of Ruby on Rails
  • Experience of working to Agile methodology
  • Capacity to meet the start date and 12 sprints over a 24 week period
  • Be able to commit to working at the Plymouth location
  • Scale resource up and down during the 24 week period
  • Be able to evidence working within a Fixed Budget
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Evidence maximizing the Deliverables and Outputs from Project Budget
