Summary of the work
CAMLite is a workflow management tool which is used by internal DWP staff to update claimant information, the work is created for the users as TasksDWP are replacing the system with an AWS Cloud based service, using ARA components where possible, to replace the COTS Product.

Who the specialist will work with
You will be comfortable working in a cross-functional team (including UX, analysts, statisticians, engineers, product owners, security risk, etc.).
What the specialist will work on
As a User Researcher you will work independently to plan and carry out research projects from preparation through to sharing of research outcomes; make use of the most appropriate research methods and tools to turn research insights into recommendations that align with the department's goals and/or delivery outcomes; be responsible for communicating with the users and championing core research principles to team members; Test high level and specific aspects of a service, presenting the research findings to help gain consensus and take action based on research finding. You will lead within the scope of your work.
WORK SETUP

The Services will be aligned to a DWP Technology Hub (to include Manchester and Leeds), the majority of the Buyer’s Digital Workforce are currently working from home and the Supplier Services will be delivered remotely, this is anticipated to continue.
Working arrangements
Digital Workforce are currently working from home and the Supplier Services will be delivered remotely, this is anticipated to continue. The team currently work 5 full days, working hours are flexible provided the supplier covers 8 hours between 08.00am & 18.00pm
Security clearance
The individual shall comply with Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)/Government Staff Vetting Procedures in respect of all persons who are employed or engaged be the Supplier in the provision of this Call Off Contract prior to each individual commencing work.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Have experience of planning and designing user research programmes
  • Experience of conducting user research using a range of research methods
  • Experience of using both qualitative & quantitative research methods
  • Experience of planning and conducting research that considers the diversity of users
  • Knowledge and experience of accessibility needs & research ethics
  • Experience of user centred design
  • Experience of Communicating the insights gained from user research outputs to both the project team and wider stakeholders, helping to enhance organisational understanding
  • Must be able to understand Business Analysis, either in a previous role as a BA or capability to understand the overlaps as a UR to a BA
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Written and verbal skills to enable them to communicate complex data and information problems and solutions
  • Have experience of working within DWP or a comparable organisation within the last 3 years
  • Experience of generating new and useful insights to influence design decisions
  • Must have delivered a UI related project as a UR with a multi-disciplinary team
