The specialist will need to be a highly experienced (Practitioner level) ServiceNow Developer. Managing day to day development/design of features and applications, contributing towards the design programme milestones. Upholding DWP values and working within Government Digital Standards.

ABOUT THE WORK

Who the specialist will work with
The Senior specialist will work with the existing DWP Augmented Teams, this will consist of DWP Digital staff and other 3rd party suppliers engaged in Service Now development work
What the specialist will work on
The specialist will need to be highly experienced with the ServiceNow product, able to deal with the day to day development and design of features and applications within the platform and contribute towards the design of the DWP Place programme milestones.- Specialist will design, develop ServiceNow platform improvements (meeting supplied requirements and deliverables) around platform capability/usability/stability - New feature discovery; support business analysts/designers to investigate/guide requirements for new capabilities- Software Development Lifecycle Process - Service enhancement and new service delivery to the required standards- Support integration and automation between Estate products
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
The role will be currently undertaken remotely but there is a likelihood that the individual would need to travel to the Corporate Hub location in Manchester at some point. There may be a requirement to work from other DWP locations in the North West.
Working arrangements
Specialist will work 5 working days per work remotely until further notice. The specialist will be required to be online between the hours of 8:00AM - 17:00PM
Security clearance
All suppliers must BPSS cleared and On-Shore.

It is essential that the Department (DWP) holds copies of and rights to all source code developed and accompanying intellectual property rights to the code to develop further or make changes as it sees fit.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • ServiceNow: Service Experience in configuring and developing features and applications within the ServiceNow product
  • Core Platform–Level 3(Practitioner), ITSM Module–Level 2(Working).Level 1(Awareness):Project and Portfolio Management module, ATF Configuring and maintaining, Integration Hub, Self-Service Portal, Virtual Agent & NLU, Performance Analytics
  • ServiceNow 3rd Line Support for incidents, problems, and changes
  • ServiceNow: Apply different techniques to methods of analysing and resolving problems, working up new practices and procedures or modify existing processes to improve performance
  • Technical skills: Information Security (DDaT), Problem Management (DDaT), Service Focus (DDaT), Technical Breadth (DDaT)
  • Experience of delivering new configuration and functionality to the ServiceNow Production instance in line with the DWP Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Ability to complete stories assigned or escalate blockers to ensure that development is completed to expected standards and are delivered within timescales
  • Ability to complete development of user stories to the DWP definition of “Done”
  • Experience in building, configuring and implementing ServiceNow features, applications and integrations
  • Experience reviewing code and configuration changes others make, ensuring compliance with DWP Standards
  • Providing support and guidance to members of the delivery teams and acting as a point of technical escalation
  • Experience of building and testing simple integrations, or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team
  • Experienced in JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform, knowledge of the Glide API’s. – Working Level
  • Current ServiceNow platform Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ hand on Development experience on the platform
  • ITIL Qualification or experience/skills
  • Demonstrate experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Government or Public Sector installation of Service Now
  • Attend and participate in Agile ceremonies
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Agile development
  • Knowledge of Angular, HTML, CSS
