You'll be working with: The College of Policing (CoP) Digital Services team Test Managers Designers Developers CoP Project Managers CoP Users
What the specialist will work on
The Sofware Tester will: Write test cases and scripts for software iterations and releases Facilitate UAT, record, analyse and feedback results Conduct functional and regression testing on software iterations and releases Support Mock Runs by capturing issues and testing reported faults Document tests, acceptance criteria and sign off Escalate and assess risks to the business This will be requried for College Learn MVP, Assessment Information Management Solution (AIMS) and Day One Assessment (the College's police recruit assessment centre)
WORK SETUP
Address where the work will take place
CoP London site, currently: 1-7 Old Queen Street, Westminster, London SW1H 9HP A move to offices in Vauxhall is anticipated Spring/Summer 2020
Working arrangements
Onsite 3 days per week, working from home/other College sites rest of the time
Security clearance
Vetting required: NPPV2, CTC (SC -desirable). Happy to put successful candidate through vetting process. Will have access to OFFICIAL - SENSITIVE police information, systems, assets and will be working at Old Queens Street/ Vauxhall with unescorted access to the building.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Extensive understanding and experience of writing and executing functional and non-functional tests for web applications
  • Extensive experience generating test cases/scripts directly from UX/UI design specifications and style guides
  • Extensive experience testing responsively designed web applications across a wide variety of devices (mobile, tablet, desktop), platforms (iOS, Android, Windows etc.) and browsers (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox etc.)
  • Extensive experience testing against W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard for accessibility compliance
  • Experience testing responsive web applications built using the Bootstrap 3/4 framework
  • Working knowledge of using and maintaining test plans and test suites within Microsoft Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps Server
  • Experience testing using a wide variety of tools/techniques, including the use of automated testing
  • Understanding of Continuous Deployment (CD) processes
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Experience using Katalon Studio and Selenium for automated testing
  • Understanding and awareness of coding practices and languages, including HTML5 semantics
  • Experience testing online learning platforms and content
  • Understanding of SCORM 1.2 object model and tracking API
  • Experience manipulating data and writing queries with Microsoft SQL Server
