ABOUT THE WORK

Who the specialist will work with
Information management team of approx 12, including information control service provider and interfacing with numerous digital service suppliers.
What the specialist will work on
This role wil support the Head of Information Management during the process of replicating, customising and/or complementing the Parliamentary Information Management model within the R&R programme. The successful candidate will use their expertise and knowledge of other challenging information governance cases to help the Programme to quickly build its capability and clarify policy. The specialist will primarily inform the policy and process production by others in the team, but may be called upon to write and produce content if no other resource can.

Working arrangements
Typically, onsite 5 days a week; some remote working is possible when appropriate.
Security clearance
The specialist will have to undergo Parliamentary security clearance; other clearances do not expedite this. The only exception is if the specialist already has a Parliamentary pass.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Have 5+ years experience directing information governance
  • Have 5+ years experience of information management/assurance consultancy
  • Demonstrate experience of governmental/public sector information governance
  • Demonstrate experience of providing advice and guidance on establishing a set of information management services including governance and assurance on a programme or major project
  • Demonstrate experience managing information in a complex and dynamic stakeholder landscape
  • Demonstrate experience producing and reviewing information management policies and processes in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly assess business requirements in order to produce interim and long term policies and strategies
  • Demonstrate experience of overseeing data sharing agreements and other means of communicating information management requirements
  • Demonstrate experience managing information for and with a complex supply chain
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Have experience of managing information on a heritage programme or major project
  • Have experience of defining information requirements as a sponsor, client or employer's agent
  • Have experience adapting ISO 19650 and/or its precursor standards to suit a major programme and/or estate
