Front-end developer required with extensive experience in developing and delivering complex UX designs using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and fully meeting WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines. This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver phase 2 of a redesign project for the Managed Learning Environment, providing mobile capability to all users.

Who the specialist will work with
The Front-end Developer will be working within an Agile environment and be predominately working alongside UX designers and back-end developers to deliver against agreed UX designs. An existing internal development team will also be part of the project team. You'll report to the Software Development Manager and work closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master who will define sprints.
What the specialist will work on
The project is to deliver phase 2 of College Learn, a redesign project of the Managed Learning Environment. Working within the framework of an existing MVC web application, the specialist will be required to take basic Razor view pages developed by back-end developers and transform these into fully responsive web pages that match agreed UX designs in terms of both style and functionality.

Working arrangements
Full-Time onsite, Monday to Friday, 36 Hours per week. Flexible working patterns will be allowed with prior agreement.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • Extensive experience of advanced front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript
  • Extensive experience of building responsive web applications using Bootstrap 3 and 4
  • Extensive experience of using built-in Bootstrap UX components
  • Extensive experience meeting W3C's WCAG 2.1 AA standard for accessibility compliance
  • Extensive experience producing front-end code direct from UX design specifications and style guides
  • Current working experience of source/version control using Team Foundation Server
  • Experience using Visual Studio 2017 IDE and debugging tools
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET MVC architecture and Razor view syntax
  • Experience developing online learning platforms
