Who the specialist will work with
The specialist will be required to work with the DCMS Commercial team, comprised of Procurement Specialists, Contract Managers and Data analysts, to develop, build and implement the database and meet the team's needs. This will include transitioning data from google sheets and google docs into a database.
What the specialist will work on
A developer is required to develop and implement a cloud-based service management platform using Filemaker software. The software is required to support procurement and commercial related activities including, but not limited to, pipeline, contract database, supplier data analysis, resource tracking, reporting and workflow management, incorporated with G Suite . This requirement includes engaging with individuals in the procurement team to understand and develop requirements.

Working arrangements
We require an individual to autonomously shape requirements and develop a system 2 - 3 days per week. This may be extended up to 5 days per week if practical.
Security clearance
Ideally hold CTC clearence however BPSS is sufficient on an escorted pass.

EXPERIENCE
Essential skills and experience
  • The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional
  • The successful candidate must be able to engage with the procurement function to help establish requirements
  • Have expertise in creating and developing databases with experience of using Filemaker software
  • Ability to understand commercial systems and processes quickly and incorporate them into the project
  • Comprehensive and recent experience designing and implementing service management platforms in large or similar government departments or other organisations
  • Evidence of delivering at pace
  • Be able to operate with autonomy, taking responsibility for their work
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to work with colleagues with low technical experience
  • Ability to be flexible when undertaking tasks, adapting to changing needs and overcoming issues
  • Experience working in Central Government departments
  • The specialist is innovative in their approach to problem solving
